Carnaval de Nice

Le Carnaval de Nice est fini, le thème était Le Roi de la Méditerranée. Il a lieu chaque année, de la Place Masséna jusqu'au milieu de la Promenade des Anglais, du 18 fevrier au 8 mars. C'est un spectacle à ne pas manquer.

Le Carnaval cette année comprenait 20 chars

monumentaux et somptueux.

La Bataille de Fleurs est à voir aussi.

Des milliers de touristes viennent chaque année pour le Carnaval, ses chars et sa musique. 

En parlant de musique, un petit clin d'oeil à nos amis Américains Paulette, Linda, Janaki et Dan, Cindy, Caleigh et Hank qui ont appris le francais (et continuent) à travers de nombreuses chansons francaises.

The Carnival at Nice is now finished - the theme this year was the King of the Mediterranean. It may not be as famous as the carnival in Rio, but a carnival has been held in Nice as far back as 1294, so it's got some history.  It also takes up some space, from the Place Masséna all the way down the Promenade des Anglais with at least 20 huge and elaborate floats.  Not to be missed at the event is the traditional Battle of the Flowers where the audience is showered with flowers from the floats.  Thousands of tourists descend on Nice for the spectacle - the floats, the street performers and the music.
